niitty: Birth of the Virtanen
We all do have hobbies, some are more usefull than others. One of my yet useless though entertaining hobby is electronic music. I'v been doing it more or less ever since mid/90's. First tryouts were with Amiga's Octamed, then got that ol'trusty 486/66Mhz PC where I runned Fast Tracker and crappy samples. Round year 2000 I had quite nice home studio with few synths, drum machines and such, operated with Cakewalk/Cubase. Then I got broke, had to sell my gear to pay rent and such and found myself again in 100% PC enviroment, now running Logic and VSTi.
Between present day and past, I'v been in around 4 or 5 bands/projects and released zero singles/albums or such. @live I have performed few times.
Now it is time to try again! Later today we(i+1) are launching this electronic orchestra called Virtanen. We plan to keep things as organic as possible, so sequencing beside of drums will not be heard. Ya could imagine us like rock band, just that replace drummer with laptop and guitar + bass with Juno106 and MiniMoog. More info will be posted, as the band is bit older and we hear that how it will sound.
